How to change hosts (and keep your existing domain name)

If you have already registered a domain name (even if it came as part of a hosting package elsewhere), then setting it up so that it "ties in" with your new vengavenga hosting account is normally very straightforward. This article is assuming that you've already signed up for a hosting account with us.

You'll probably have been given some login details by the company that you registered the domain name through .. simply login to your account with that company, and if you find yourself in some sort of "control panel", look for the section that mentions "dns nameservers" (sometimes just called "nameservers").

All you need to do is change the nameservers (they are just short pieces of text rather like domain names) to the ones we'll provide you with.

That's it ... 24-72 hours later, your domain name will "point" towards your new vengavenga hosting account.

If you can't find a control panel, can't find the nameserver settings, or just don't fancy messing around with this side of things, then please contact us and we'll do everything we can to help.
